Salt & Sugar

A reflection of perfection.

Isn’t it interesting, that we devour the books and the movies that have a rich, complicated plot line. We devour the triumph over hardship. We devour the sketchy layers in the character’s lifeand frankly, we’d stop watching if the plot had no obstacles. No ebbs and flows. No protagonist. No antagonist. And yet, we want our life to be simple without the excitement and without the suspense. But don’t you want to say you really lived? Really lived in spite of and because of and regardless of and…and…and. Stop wanting perfection. Your hard time is only a blink. Hang on for the ride.

ENJOY IT ALL.

Salt and Sugar

Why do we always strive for perfection, as if anyone wants to read the obituary that touts the way she made her bed every morning.
I want to read about the rumpled bed, the disheveled hair, the way her eyes crinkled when she laughed and how she looked at all humanity with a soft eye.
I want to read that she went through hell and survived both salt and sugar
and look how much life she lived.
