Still Tripping
The secret to life
is to ignore what
you see on the
outside, the pristine
or maybe tarnished
shells walking around
and look to see what
striations of goodness
can be found on the inside.
I think you will be surprised
to see a shattering,
like glass,
reflections of pain
bouncing off
prized moments of
barely-suppressed
grandeur and simple
breathing and maybe even a
love for chocolate pudding.
We were all babies once
with a need for warmth
and swaddling and milk.
We were all kids tripping
over shoelaces.
And look.
Here we are now.
Sometimes still tripping.
Be so kind.
